During COVID, social media became our prime way to promote The Roar to drive our readership up. We would either post on our Instagram story or to our feed to help draw attention to our website. Over the past year, I've grown our Instagram account over 550 followers by diversifying our content and getting the students involved as well with giveaways, student submissions and polls. The Facebook took a bit of a back burner during COVID, and this year, I made sure it was getting regularly updated. The parents and other community members are some of our bigger supporters and this is one of the best ways to get information out to them.
Promoting our Twitter Coverage:
Also during COVID when we couldn't have a student section at games, we would send a staff member to go cover the games on Twitter. We would post beforehand to make people aware of the days we would cover games so students were staying up to date.
